Housing
- WG Zimmer is a good first point of contact.
- JUWO (Youth Housing Network) is supported by various groups; eligibility is limited to those aged between 18 and 28 who earn/receive less than 30,000 CHF per year.
- WOKO is supported by the student associations of the University of Zurich and ETH; therefore, you must be a full-time student or doctoral candidate.
- ETH also offers its own housing service for finding apartments and rooms.
Study Materials
- Project Neptun offers discounted laptops and similar devices. However, they are often suited for high performance rather than budget.
- ETH-Store is a cooperative and generally has student-friendly prices.
- The ETH-Library offers not only physical books but also a selection of e-books in PDF format. You can filter search results by the criterion “Available Online.”
- The VSETH book exchange allows students to pass on textbooks across different study years.
Food in the Zentrum campus
- The SV-Group operates many canteens at ETH.
- The Zurich Women’s Association manages the University of Zurich's canteens
- There are Coop and Migros stores near Rigiblick.
- The Ässbar brings day-old bread to the city center and Hönggerberg. The prices, due to the age of the goods, are quite un-Zurich-like (i.e., cheap).
- On Unistrasse, across from CHN, you can find various takeaway spots like Klara’s Kitchen.
VSETH
- The VSETH (ETH Student Association) offers a variety of leisure activities. Here, you can explore the organisations and commissions within VSETH.
- Here you can find general information for first-year students.
